Active ingredients
10% Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate: A unique form of vitamin C as it is oil soluble that means it gets absorbed through the skin’s lipid bi-layer (cell membrane) much more effectively. And faster than a water-soluble serum. Which converts to 90% vitamin C in the skin.
Because of its stability we don’t have to drip feed it onto the skin like a lot of the other O Cosmedics correctors. It can be used every day straight up and can be used on the most sensitive skin.
Why is Vitamin C important and what does it do?
Essential Antioxidant – protection against damage against external damage to our cells. A classic example is the apple when you cut an apple in half what starts to happen is that the apple starts to go brown and starts to oxidise and that is what happens to our cells. Internally and externally we are exposed to free radicals and they can contribute to cell damage and in some cases cell death. Which will affect how your skin functions and how your skin cells will communicate with each other
Precursor to collagen synthesis – Vitamin C supports collagen synthesis, when we see a depletion or a reduction in vitamin C stores in the skin you really see the change in the lines and wrinkles because of the breakdown in the dermal layer. It supports new collagen production but it also supports existing collagen fibres in our skin.
Pigmentation – Vitamin C acts in two ways to help with pigmentation it acts as a tyrosinase inhibitor so it assists in slowing down the melanin formation and it helps to protect your cells against melanin transfer. We refer to this as the umbrella. It puts the umbrella over the cell to prevent the melanin transfer and staining. It can also provide with additional UV protection.
Even out skin tone and give the skin its radiance due to the two actions above that will prevent pigmentation.
Strengthens capillary walls – Vitamin C is an important vitamin to support our capillary structures to give strong capillary walls.
What is Hemp Seed oil : a rich and very easily absorbed oil, it will not contribute to any blockages or congestion in the skin. It is good fats oil so it is supporting the skin and help even an oily skin.
